Each year, RidgeGate teams up with the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District to provide free, guided nature hikes throughout the spring, summer and fall. These hikes are led by professional naturalists from SSPRD, and offer insight and education into the natural ecosystems within the open space at RidgeGate, while offering a chance to get some fresh air and exercise. Hikes are free to the public, but registration is required. Please register below!
Bison in Colorado: Then and Now, with Beth Hanson and Peggy Wait
Stories of old mix with the resurgence of interest today. Where are/were they in Colorado? What is/was their impact locally, socially, economically, and environmentally? Hold an actual hoof in your hand and imagine a thundering stampede. Kids are welcome, ages 5+ recommended because the trail has some moderately steep portions, but younger kids game for the adventure may come along as well.
