Each year, RidgeGate teams up with the South Suburban Parks and Recreation District to provide free, guided nature hikes throughout the spring, summer and fall. These hikes are led by professional naturalists from SSPRD, and offer insight and education into the natural ecosystems within the open space at RidgeGate, while offering a chance to get some fresh air and exercise. Hikes are free to the public, but registration is required. Please register below!

Monarchs and Milkweed Hike with Beth Hanson and Peggy Wait

Find native milkweed along the trail and hear about the monarch butterfly’s recovery. Leave with free milkweed seeds to plant yourself. Learn how native plants benefit us all. Kids are welcome, ages 5+ recommended.
